The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota captures world attention through their peaceful resistance against the U.S. government's plan to construct an oil pipeline through their land. A collaboration between Indigenous filmmakers, Director Myron Dewey, Executive Producer Doug Good Feather and environmental Oscar-Nominated filmmakers Josh Fox and James Spione, AWAKE, A Dream from Standing Rock, is a labor of love to support the peaceful movement of the water protectors.
After viewing the documentary, there will be a question-and-answer period with Owl member of Ramapough Lenape Nation who attended Standing Rock and Rosie, an indigenous tribal member who kept a kitchen to feed the elders.
