The Peace & Justice Center of Eastern Maine will screen AWAKE, A Dream from Standing Rock on April 22 at 6pm. This film is a collaboration between Indigenous filmmakers, Director Myron Dewey, Executive Producer Doug Good Feather and environmental Oscar Nominated filmmakers Josh Fox and James Spione. It is a labor of love to support the peaceful movement of the water protectors.

The Water Protectors at Standing Rock captured world attention through their peaceful resistance. While many may know the details, AWAKE, A Dream from Standing Rock captures the story of Native-led defiance that forever changed the fight for clean water, our environment and the future of our planet.

The Reel Work Labor Film Festival will screen the documentary AWAKE, A Dream from Standing Rock on April 26 at 4pm in Monterey County. This film focuses on the Dakota Access Pipeline, a controversial project that brings fracked crude oil from the Bakken Shale in North Dakota through South Dakota, Iowa and eventually to Illinois. The Water Protectors at Standing Rock captured world attention through their peaceful resistance.

This film is a record of the massive peaceful resistance led by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to the Dakota Access Pipeline through their land and underneath the Missouri River.
