The Acme Screening Room is showing AWAKE, A Dream from Standing Rock at 6pm on January 6. Tickets for this event include a lobby reception and a discussion following the film.

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota captures world attention through their peaceful resistance against the U.S. government's plan to construct an oil pipeline through their land. A collaboration between Indigenous filmmakers, Director Myron Dewey, Executive Producer Doug Good Feather and environmental Oscar-Nominated filmmakers Josh Fox and James Spione, AWAKE, A Dream from Standing Rock, is a labor of love to support the peaceful movement of the water protectors.

After viewing the documentary, there will be a question-and-answer period with Owl member of Ramapough Lenape Nation who attended Standing Rock and Rosie, an indigenous tribal member who kept a kitchen to feed the elders.
